Murasama [Metal Gear Rising]

This is a fanmade 3D model of Jetstream Sam’s Murasama from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, crafted with real-time applications in mind. Both the low and high poly models were created in Maya. The high poly was used to emphasize the weapon’s sleek, aggressive silhouette and to highlight the sharp tech-inspired design elements that define the Metal Gear aesthetic—futuristic, functional, and industrial.

Texturing was completed in Substance Painter, with particular focus on emissive channels to capture the glowing details present in the original in-game model. Materials were balanced to reflect the mix of polished steel, synthetic materials, and subtle wear without losing the clean, high-tech feel.

The asset was presented in three configurations: sword only, sword with scabbard, and scabbard only. Rendering was done in both Marmoset Toolbag and Unreal Engine, allowing for flexibility in lighting, post-processing, and material showcasing.
